Spruce Up Your Skin This Spring

Let's face it. The last few years have been challenging, and in more ways than one. Chances are, you've felt some kind of stress, whether physically or emotionally. While you may be familiar with the various ways stress can present itself, do you know that it can negatively impact your skin? And we're not talking about the occasional "stress pimple."

Stress can actually cause your skin to become inflamed, causing rosacea, rashes, hives, and cysts. Not only that, stress has been proven to cause wrinkles, under-eye bags, dry skin, and dullness. Both emotional stress and environmental stress, like air pollution, sunburn, and toxins, can really take a toll on your skin.

That being said, there are some actions you can take right now to start bringing that glow back, and we aren't talking invasive procedures.

The first step, and the easiest, is hydrating. You may not realize it, but your skin is thirsty. Drinking ample amounts of water daily, not two glasses here and four there, but a solid 64-100 ounces of water every day will drastically improve the appearance of your skin -- not to mention help your organs run optimally.

Hydrating and moisturizing go hand in hand. Forgetting your daily moisturizer is like forgetting to drink your water. A great start is the Bioelements 3-step starter kit which you can get right here at Replenish. This is a non-abrasive, effective system that will breathe life back into your skin.

You can also drink your way to better skin via smoothies. Oh yes, those sweet, fruity blended beverages pack a big punch when it comes to your skin. My favorite -- the Glow Up smoothie, tastes great and is filled with the good stuff your skin is longing for. Real coconut milk contains lauric acid, which has antibacterial properties that can protect the skin against pollutants and external stressors. Avocado is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids which support better absorption of vitamins and minerals. Wild blueberries are an antioxidant powerhouse, and along with their other nutrients, they can reduce the inflammation on the skin, decreasing your risk for breakouts, rashes, and premature aging. Spinach is chock full of vitamin C, iron, and other essential nutrients, all of which help bring the skin back to life.

Glow Up Smoothie

1/2 cup of coconut milk from a can

1/2 cup water

1/2 avocado

1/2 cup blueberries

1 cup spinach or kale

optional- add a scoop of your favorite protein powder

Simply blend these ingredients together and sip your way to better skin.

Finally, you can treat yourself to a non-chemical peel. The PRX-T33 peel is a non-invasive, no peel peel. This treatment will immediately hydrate and brighten the skin, but over time will help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, restore firmness, minimize the appearance of scars, and plump the skin. This peel is most effective with 2-4 treatments and there is no photosensitivity component.

The professionals at Replenish use the most innovative products, procedures, and peels, and depending on the needs of your skin, there is an option for you. So get hydrated, moisturize, drink your Glow Up smoothie, and contact us for all your skincare needs...and wants.
